Rich, roasty, toasty, nutty, and malt aromas with a biscuity, bread-y nose. Raisins, nuts, and a touch of chocolate flavors are balanced with just enough hop bitterness to keep this beer easy drinking. Mac Nutty received a Silver Medal in Dublin’s Craft Beer Cup 2017 and Bronze Medal in 2018.

Elected Beer of the Year 2022 by the Independent Craft Brewers of Ireland. Spear is aged for a year in Sherry Oloroso casks that previously held Irish Whiskey – revealing strong notes of whiskey, softened by the chocolate and coffee aromas coming from the brewery’s blend of roasted and caramel malts. A soft sherry finish gives this Imperial Stout a silky texture to support the high alcohol content.

This Imperial Peanut Butter Porter is an amped up version of their regular Peanut Butter Porter. It combines a malty robust porter with creamy chocolate peanut butter flavor (using real peanuts)!

It all started has a hobby for Lucas in his college apartment at Iowa State University – little did Brenna (his now wife) know at the time, this hoppy would grow into a full blown obsession. After graduating Iowa State, Lucas and Brenna moved to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin where Lucas attended Barley to Barrel – a program specifically catered to aspiring brewery owners. Lucas says his biggest takeaway was that he needed a partner. Shortly there after, the couple moved to Independence, Iowa where Lucas teamed up with Brandon Miken and Pete Gaumer to create Allerton Brewing Company. Made in collaboration with one of NoCoast’s favorite coffee shops, Smokey Row. This deep, robust, rye porter is brewed at NoCoast and diligently aged in Wild Turkey whiskey barrels for 11 months. It is then steeped with Smokey Row’s Tanzania peaberry coffee to impart aromas of rich oak, chocolate, coffee and whiskey. There are additional notes of spicy rye with a slight fruitiness, and a subtle acidity.

ABOUT WELDWERKS BREWING CO.:
Like many other great businesses do, WeldWerks started as a hobby in a garage. In 2009, Co-founder and head brewer, Neil Fisher, began home-brewing with his friends. Once a month, everyone would get together to brew, learn and enjoy each other’s company. By 2014, Neil had entered into the Big Beers, Belgians and Barley wines festival. Prior to this competition, friend, and no-CEO and co-founder, Colin Jones, made an agreement with Neil, promising to consider opening a brewery if Neil were to bring back a medal. Eleven months and two medals later, the first beers were poured at WeldWerks Brewing. Today, all of WeldWerks beers are produced in their downtown Greeley location on their 15 bbl 3-vessel steam brewhouse. Fair State Brewing Cooperative started on the rugby pitch, where founders Evan Sallee, Niko Tonks, and Matt Hauck first met while playing for rival teams. Later, they formed a friendship and took their love of home-brewing to a greater goal of founding a brewery. The friends believed there was too large of a gap between home-brewer and owning a brewery, and thus decided to build a co-op model to allow consumers to be more involved in operations. There are flavors of coconut, rum drinks, pithy orange, and nutty dark malts that are sweet, thick and intense.

ABOUT WELDWERKS BREWING CO.:
Like many other great businesses do, WeldWerks started as a hobby in a garage. In 2009, Co-founder and head brewer, Neil Fisher, began home-brewing with his friends. Once a month, everyone would get together to brew, learn and enjoy each other’s company. By 2014, Neil had entered into the Big Beers, Belgians and Barleywines festival; prior to this competition, friend, and no-CEO and co-founder, Colin Jones, made an agreement with Neil, promising to consider opening a brewery if Neil were to bring back a medal. 11 months and two medals later, the first beers were poured at WeldWerks Brewing. Today, all of WeldWerks beers are produced in their downtown Greeley location on their 15 bbl 3-vessel steam brewhouse. For some beers, Dugges Bryggeri (Dugges Brewery) decides to showcase a specific flavor to really let it shine; and that’s exactly what they did with their Pear beer. They made a puckering sour beer then added pear… and a lot of it!

“We’ve done a lot of sour beer here at Dugges. We’ve done some many taste variants with fruit and spices that we’ve lost count. And, we’ve played around with malt bills, yeasts, levels of alcohol and acidity to the point that we almost though we’d tried everything.
One thing we hadn’t done though, weirdly enough, was to focus on one single fruit; to methodically go through fruit by fruit to see how they work and would taste in a sour beer. So, that’s how this new single fruit series started. Pear is the first fruit out but there’ll be many more. Cheers!” – Dugges Bryggeri

“Idjit is one of those beers that we’ve done forever. A beer that started out as a horrible experiment. Then became our staple 9.5% ABV Imperial Stout. After a while we remade it up to 12% ABV, renaming it Big Idjit, jokingly calling it a ’Scandinavian Session Stout’. Big idjit is the perfect beer for barrel aging and refining. In fact, several barrel aged versions have carried the name Perfect Idjit. This version is taking it a step further, refining the beer after barrel aging. In this case by adding just the right amount of licorice to the beautiful bourbon barrel aged beer. What’s more perfect than perfect? Perfecter (it’s a word) Idjit. Good night!” – Dugges Bryggeri

ABOUT THE BREWERY:
In 2002 Mikael Dugge Engström, the founder, CEO and Brew Master of Dugges Bryggeri, had a meeting with an Englishman. What was said in that meeting has since been forgotten, but was said to be the reason Dugges Bryggeri is around today. The Englishman sold filters for brewing beer, as well as second hand breweries – this got Mikael to thinking about how awesome it would be to own his own brewery. After years of research, visits to other breweries, making friends and asking all the right questions, Mikael starting buying parts needed to build is own small brewery. In 2005, he opened the doors to Dugges in Mölndal. Learn more about his story here.
